Robert Scott launches Barista Cloth for nation’s coffee connoisseurs

It’s no secret the UK is a nation of brew lovers and so Robert Scott – one of the UK’s leading cleaning product manufacturers and distributors – has developed the Barista Cloth, a new heat-resistant, antibacterial cloth for the industry. According to the British Coffee Association, the UK’s coffee consumption grew to an estimated 95 million cups a day in 20181 and so for those who work behind the machine, things can get rather steamy.

Applying Robert Scott’s serious cleaning know-how, the cloth has been designed with the needs of baristas in mind and has been externally certified against BS EN ISO 12127-1 2015 and approved to be heat resistant up to 250°C.


The Barista Cloth can be used on the steam wands and other coffee machine components that become extremely hot, offering complete heat protection to the user.Made from 100 per cent biodegradable viscose, the cloth is suitable for use on any surface, with an antibacterial treatment that inhibits the growth of bacteria and eliminates odours on the cloth. It is also food contact safe and can be used in food preparation areas.Simply dampen the cloth with cold water, fold several times and wipe any residues to ensure the steam wand is clean for use.
